Discouraged About Your Art? Make More Noise.

Sometimes I feel doomed or as though I’ve betrayed myself in wanting a career in writing and overall only feeling happy when I can utilize my creativity. And other times I feel as though despite all my yelling that no one listens to me regardless. I get discouraged by my lack of popularity, the lack of ‘likes’ and attention I receive for my music, and it makes me ask myself the question of why I keep going. To be honest, I’m not sure why. But I push myself to keep yelling in hopes that one person like me can hear me and that I inspire them to yell, too.

I wrote this song a little after midnight while I had the house to myself and was free to feel however I wanted as loud as I wanted.

Lyrics:

Drop off the radar and
Become a pusher man
Cause there’s no money in
Selling honesty
I’ll be an astronaut
Or a zookeeper
I figure hey, why not?
The animals are nicer

This pen’s the death of me
The fuck is loyalty
This crumpled paper is
My insides
Your crowd is way too loud
My crowd is barely there
I swear I have a crowd
Two or three fans

Make more noise
(This crumpled paper is my insides)
