How to Help a Friend Through a Panic Attack

Panic attacks can be scary for both the person panicking, and for the friend of the panicker. But what you, as the friend of the panicker, need to have in mind is: they are way more scared than you, and they need you to bring them back to reality. Below describes what panic attacks are, what causes a panic attack, and how to help a friend through a panic attack.

We Held Insta Discussions with POC Healers and Therapists on Suicide, Now What?

Our mental health system has needed to be changed drastically for a long time. Our Self-Care Workshop Offered Take-Home, Yoga-Based Tools for Mind Obstacles

Hi everyone! This is Shannen, founding editor-in-chief of The Strange is Beautiful and 500 hour trauma informed yoga instructor. I had the honor of leading our Self-Care for Mind Obstacles Workshop on July 29, 2018 and it was SO MUCH FUN !!!! The hardest thing about self-care is having healing options be accessible and affordable. For this workshop, my goal was to provide as many alternative medicine practices as possible, taught in the clearest way, and to make sure that everyone left feeling confident about practicing everything on their own post-workshop.
