Finding Your Worth: Poetry by Kelly Duarte

If you look at it from an angle You can’t see the cracks

It is a faint rainbow in a summer storm
The warm raindrops stick
A pattering on the roof
As you sleep with the windows open

A slice of chocoflan in the middle of the night
The caramel lingers
Slivers of light escape
The refrigerator illuminates you

A broken mirror
Superglued together
If you look at it from an angle
You can’t see the cracks
